June 2026 Update (Big One)

I hadn’t planned to be “quiet” this long, following our last chapbook . . . which may turn out to be our last chapbook.

Grey Book Press has been operating under that name for almost 30 years, first with a series of journals and then single-author chapbooks (starting in 2009). The focus was just to publish high-quality poetry—the kind that I wanted to read and felt was worth sharing with others. Innovation of the form and building a successful business were never top of mind. I have always been bad at marketing and gave lousy interviews (the few times I’d been asked). I wish I’d put just a LITTLE more into promoting the chapbooks for the authors. But I’m very proud of the work we accomplished. I think that many of the chapbooks we did are stunning works. And we also did two full-length books!

I want to thank everyone who supported us and those authors by purchasing a chapbook, and a huge thanks to all of the authors who shared their work with (and through) us. Even now, I’m not going to play favorites, but many of you became friends and inspired my own writings.

Going forward, the website will stay up for at least another year. Sales will continue. In fact, I have some printed backlog. I can work out “bulk” purchase options for back stock. Some older titles may be hard to reprint, as source files were lost, so we may be limited to copies I have on hand. I’ve been checking the GBP email sporadically but have been sending out orders as notifications arrived.

Publishing under the What About What About What About What About Right Now Right Now imprint will mostly be personal projects, but I could see doing some (very) limited edition chapbooks for friends.
